Examination and testing of hoisting equipment

The specialists of our company check the following devices and components:

Davit inspection:
The davit must be inspected for satisfactory condition and operational readiness for the following items:

• The design of the davit, in particular regarding corrosion, inconsistency in the movement of moving parts, deformations and excessive backlash;
• Cables and blocks - damage such as twisting and corrosion is possible;
• Lubrication of cables, blocks and moving parts;
• Functioning of limit switches;
• The stored power systems and hydraulic systems, if applicable;

Boat winch inspection:
The winch must be checked and certified for satisfactory condition and operational readiness for the following items:

• Open and inspect the brake mechanism;
• Replace brake pads, bearings if necessary;
• Inspect the remote control system;
• Inspect the power supply system, and
• winch foundation.

Dynamic testing of boat winch brakes:
The annual performance test of the brakes is preferably done by lowering the empty boat.
Once every five years a performance test shall be carried out by lowering the boat loaded so that its test weight is 1.1 times more than its full weight (including personnel and provision). The calculation of the test load in each case is made separately and agreed with the classification society inspector. 


As soon as the testing is completed we issue an original certificate for the tested devices.
