Hoisting equipment

Launching equipment includes devices or equipment that are used to lower or retrieve liferafts, rescue boats, or lifeboats safely. Lifeboats, rescue boats and liferafts can be lowered using a gravity davit. In addition, fully enclosed lifeboats can be launched using the free fall method.

Each launching device on our website ensures the safe lowering of a rescue boat, liferaft or lifeboat into the water with its full equipment with a trim difference up to 10° and athwartships trim to 20° on any side.
On gas carriers, oil tankers or chemical tankers, there are often situations when the final athwartships trim can be more than 20°. In such cases, luanching equipment should be able to lower life-saving appliances at the final athwartships trim on the heeled side of the vessel. "

LSA Code Requirements for launching devices
Collective life-saving appliances, empty or fully loaded with the crew and equipment, are launched by gravity or by means of hydraulic stored power of the launching devices, independent on the vessel's power sources. The launching mechanism can be operated by one person on the deck of the ship or from the lifeboat / liferaft and from the rescue boat. The speed of descent of collective life-saving appliances is determined by the Administration, taking into account their design, as well as minimizing the overload of the crew during an emergency stop of the lowering. Therefore, the launching devices are equipped with means to prevent the possibility of exceeding the lowering speed. Braking systems also effectively stop the lowering of life-saving appliances and hold them with their full complement of people and equipment in a given position.

LSA Code requirements for free fall davits
The LSA Code requires launching devices to be installed on the ship at locations that facilitate the boat's departure from the ship to a safe distance. The launching device and lifeboat system should be designed in such a way as to protect people in the boat from shock overloads.
The launching device shall not create and be a source of sparks and frictional ignition during the launching of the lifeboat.

All presented products comply with the latest IMO/SOLAS requirements and the LSA Code.
