Description
Linethrower 250 is a self-contained line-throwing appliance consisting of a weatherproof plastic casing with an end cap and 250 m of line, an integral striker mechanism plus a rocket. It is designed for ease of operation in the most extreme weather conditions. The device has a throwing range of between 230 m and 250 m. A solid propellant is used which guarantees a highly accurate flight path even in strong sidewinds. It can be used in temperatures from -30 °C to +65 °C (149.0 °F).

Linethrower 250 comply with SOLAS requirements. Typically, 4 units which can be dispersed in strategic positions throughout the vessel, are required to be carried onboard. Body and line kit are serviceable for operation for 9 years, while the rocket can serve for a minimum of 3 years. You can always replace consumed and time expired rockets by spare ones.

The linethrower is intended only for emergency use at sea, never dismantle or use it after expiry date. Keep away from children and sources of heat. Do not point at people or property.

Application:
All situations where a line is required to be passed accurately and quickly, including:
  • All line-throwing operations at sea between vessels, ship-to-shore, shore-to-ship and shore based rescue services.
  • Rescue of swimmers in distress.
  • Line carrying across obstacles and rough terrain
Operation:
  1. Wear Personal Safety Equipment (gloves, glasses, ear protection, helmet)
  2. Remove the front cover and point in the desired flight direction
  3. Pull out safety pin
  4. Aim over the top of target. Be prepared for recoil
  5. Turn grip to left or right to fire
  6. If misfire occurs hold unit in firing position for at least 60 seconds, then dispose of overboard
