Thrummed mat is used to patch hull breaches, firefighting and also it is used as an underlay for heavy objects onboard vessel near staircases and doorways. The backbone of the mat is tarred line with a diameter of 5,1 or 5,8 mm, cleat is tarred spun yarn with a circumference of 16 mm, shag (thrum) - manila rope yarns.
