Remotely-operated vehiclees and components
What is ROV?
ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) is a remotely controlled underwater vehicle, often referred to as an underwater drone or robot. It is used to explore the underwater world while the operator remains on the surface. Divers rarely venture below 100 meters, so without ROVs, our ability to explore and work in the sea is significantly limited.
Main Components of ROV
ROVs can vary in size and shape depending on the tasks they are designed for, but they generally consist of the following basic components:
Thrusters: Electric or hydraulic propellers that enable the vehicle to maneuver. Most ROVs are equipped with multiple thrusters to allow movement in different directions.
Camera: The operator controls the vehicle based on the camera's feed. These cameras have low latency to provide real-time video transmission.
Lighting: Since water quickly absorbs sunlight, most deep-sea missions take place in total darkness. Powerful lights illuminate the path and surrounding environment.
Tether: Almost all ROVs are connected to the surface via a tether that transmits power and signals. Radio waves do not travel well through water, making wireless technologies extremely rare for ROVs.
Frame: The ROV’s frame holds all the components, such as thrusters, cameras, lights, tether, and other systems. It is usually an open rectangular structure, ensuring easy assembly and modification. Some vehicles have specialized frames to reduce water resistance and meet specific mission needs.
Control System: The ROV is controlled from the surface, either from a control center or even a smartphone. Regardless of the setup, the interface allows the operator to manage the vehicle and receive data from the camera and other sensors.
We offer a wide range of ROVs suitable for both deep-sea exploration (up to 300 meters) and shallow-water operations. These vehicles combine high performance, precise control, and the ability to upgrade, allowing them to be adapted for various tasks. Our models feature options for integrating additional sensors, manipulators, cameras, and lighting systems, making it easy to customize the ROV for specific projects.
Our catalog includes not only ROVs themselves but also essential components and accessories: high-definition cameras, powerful thrusters, lighting systems, tethers, pressure and temperature sensors, as well as housings for operation at depths of up to 300 meters. All of the equipment is designed for maximum reliability and performance, even in the most extreme conditions.
