Description
The gripper's jaws can open to grasp objects up to 2.44" (6.2 cm) in diameter. Made from corrosion-resistant plastic and mounted with custom aluminum screws, the gripper requires no lubrication. A linear actuator powered by a geared brushed motor and lead screw drives the jaws, and the air-filled main body is sealed with O-rings, ensuring reliable operation at depths up to 300 meters, with a significant safety margin.
The gripper is controlled by a custom-built brushed motor controller, which accepts standard PWM signals for seamless integration with ROV systems. It operates on 9-18V power and draws up to 6A of current.
Included with the gripper is an anodized aluminum mount that attaches via two M5 screws and features a thumbscrew for quick adjustment and rotation. The package contains everything needed to install and operate the gripper on the BlueROV2.
